Seconds After Cohen Pleads Guilty, Trump Reveals His Worst Nightmare to the World

On Thursday, prior to departing the White House, President Trump slammed his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, after he pleaded guilty to lying to Congress in special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.

Trump called Cohen “very weak” and accused the former lawyer of “lying” in order to get a reduced sentence.

“He’s a weak person and what he’s trying to do is get a reduced sentence. So he’s lying about a project that everybody knew about. I mean we were very open with it.”

On Thursday morning, Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to one count of making false statements to Congress in regards to his testimony about a supposed deal in Trump Tower with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign. Cohen said he gave a false testimony about his involvement in an alleged proposal to construct a Trump property in Moscow.

It seems like Cohen’s intentions are pretty clear. Trump sums them up at the end of the discussion with reporters:

“He’s got himself a big prison sentence and he’s trying to get a lesser prison sentence by making up a story.”
