The news media has run wild this week after NBC Tweeted a status talking about Oprah Winfrey running for President against Trump in 2020.
President Trump had kind words to say about the former talk show host during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
“Oprah would be a lot of fun. I know her very well. … I like Oprah but I don’t think she’s going to run.”
Eric Trump’s wife, Lara, stopped by Fox News’ ‘Hannity’ on Tuesday to discuss the latest news on the Trump 2020 campaign and the possibility of Oprah as a challenger to President Trump.
“I would love to know if Oprah is who we have to run against in 2020. She’s an incredible woman and I think she has many, many accomplishments under her belt. … But let’s not forget, Donald Trump, in 2016 defeated 16 incredible GOP candidates and Hillary Clinton. … It’s going to be a lot harder to run against him in 2020.
Joe Concha of The Hill also weighed in with his take on the Oprah Winfrey angle. He believes that the media is running with it because they want ad clicks on their websites, not because they believe she is a good candidate.
“I think the media is advocating for an Oprah Winfrey candidacy because never in the history of clicks and ratings would anything be better, from an infotainment and business perspective, than Winfrey vs Trump in 2020.”
What he says next will put the nail in Oprah and the left-wing media’s coffin.
“I just find it amazing that media that derided a political novice and a TV host for having the audacity to run in 2016 is now drooling over the prospect of Oprah Winfrey doing it.”
